Jane Iredale is the leading name in the Mineral Makeup world. Her brand is known throughout the globe. I haven’t really tested much out of the range until now. And, I didn’t even know that she is perhaps the first person to bring mineral makeup into the Beauty Industry. Here I was thinking I knew so much about natural makeup! What is Mineral makeup? Well, it is makeup that is made from crushed natural mineral pigments which are from the ground! It is fantastic because it doesnt clog your skin, is very pure and gentle. Even the most sensitive of skin’s can wear this.
I have known about mineral makeup for years now and got into it myself about 10 years ago. When I was a Beauty Therapist, I saw hundreds of women and teenagers with problem skins. I knew most of it was diet related but I also started seeing how the makeup they were wearing was affecting their skins. When asked, they would always say there were using a big name cheap brand from the chemist. They didn’t realise that although it seemed to cover well, it was causing havoc under neath the skin.
When I told them that most brands have chemicals like bismuth oxychloride (check on yours!) which actually can cause itching, rashes and mild to severe acne, they were very shocked.
So the very problems they thought this makeup was covering up, was actually being causing it in the first place!
Many foundations on average, can have approx 24 different chemicals!
Lipsticks and shimmery eye shadows usually contain crushed beetles! check for the words Carmine or Cochineal written on the list!

Liquid Minerals £32.63
Jane Iredale does not use any of these and the other nasty ingredients in her formulas. This makeup is so healthy you could pretty much sleep in it!
This liquid mineral foundation is so different purely because of the way it is visually in the tube.. It has little foundation spheres and a clear liquid which mix together when top is pumped and it blends the two together so that it turns into a liquid. This makes it easy to apply to the face. I found a little bit goes a long way if you want light coverage or more if you want heavier coverage.
It really feels light as a feather and just so good on the skin. I think it would last quite a few weeks as well probably 2 months? I like that it covers yet you still see you underneath it and if you get the right colour it wont look like a mask.
When you remove it as well you wont have red or sensitive skin because this makeup is actually good for your skin. Its more than makeup its a treatment and can really help with acne because of its healing properties in the ingredients.
There are 18 shades to get that perfect colour for you, even darker skins can find their best colour! There is an easy to use chart on the website that will help you determine what colour you would be.
If you have oily skin you may want to powder over the top but I actually prefer it without as I think the healthiest skin always has a slight sheen to it. I used to powder my face so much when I was a teenager as shiny skin was so not in! These days though I want to try and look fresh so the sheen is a good thing!
I am very impressed with this product!

Cream blushes were something I only just got into last year. I was just used to wearing powders.
Cream blushes are by far the most flattering. Because of their creamy formula it doesnt look dry on the skin, and makes you look healthy and dewy.
There are 5 fab shades to choose from mine is the clarity colour a very bright baby pink – gorgeous! I also like the other 4 as are quite different but very flattering to all skin colours.
I always notice that the nicest makeup on women these days are the dewy pinks and apricots – it seems to make people look healthier, so these are the sorts of colours I go for.
When I used to have pitch black hair and pale skin I think people thought I was sick as the makeup I wore was just not very pretty looking.
This cream blush is very easy to apply, you can just dot a few times onto the cheeks and rub over areas.
I find its best to smile before (a nice big fake smile works best!) so you can see where the apple of your cheeks are and then apply and blend into those areas.
I adore my pinky shade and that I can use it on the eyelids as well and also on the lips, its a really good 3-1 product. Will last awhile also, mineral makeup always spreads very far and is worth the price.
I love the gold packaging as well. Its nice to pull out in a bathroom when you are having a nice dinner or evening out.
