What are you feeding your pets? Is it the best food for them or is it harming them?

I am very excited at the moment as I am waiting for my new puppy to arrive! I will be picking her up in a few weeks time.  When she is here, I will take some photos and show you all.

She is not a rescued puppy though, I had to get her from a breeder because these kind of dogs, never end up in the shelters as they are very easy to find homes for. She is the sort of dog I have been wanting since  I was very young.

Whilst I am waiting for her to be old enough to leave the breeders, I am using this time to prepare myself on how to train her and very importantly, what to feed her.

I came across this very alarming article on how the commercial pet food is killing our animals and also giving them very horrible degenerative diseases.

Doesnt it sound very similar to what is happening to us humans, with so much proof now that disease is down to dietary choices.

When you dig deeper into this article you will also notice huge similarities between the pet industry and Big pharma.

Please read the article here:

So now you might be asking after reading this, what should I feed my pets?

I hear a lot about this in the raw food movement about raw eating pets.  I even looked into it when my cat Meika was still alive but quickly decided against it because raw food is just not good for cats.

For dogs on the other hand though, this is certainly a good idea to incorporate raw food.

Ani Phyo, a well known raw food speaker and chef, has a raw dog who looks like the healthiest dog I ever seen.  His coat is so shiny and eyes so sparkly.

If anyone is interested in learning more about raw pets please go to: www.rawlearning.com/ and also just google if you like.

If a purely raw diet doesnt appeal to you then check out this website, for packaged pet food they seem fantastic and I actually found out through their newsletter about the daily mail article. www.ukbarfclub.co.uk/

I am considering feeding my dog this range of food and then starting to feed her raw food – this stuff  sounds amazing www.championpetfoods.com/.

If you have pets, please look into this issue further, our animals deserve the very best in life, as do we!

  1. Congratulations! There’s nothing like a puppy. Mine is almost four now and very healthy. Unvaccinated of course and never been to a vet.

My dog LOVES Addiction dehydrated raw food from New Zealand. You just mix it with some water and there’s 3 flavors, no grains. Origen makes my dog get bad breath. Addiction doesn’t. We use ZiwiPeak which is also organic and dehydrated raw food for treats. She occasionally gets some raw buffalo or beef or chicken (my family eats meat now and again so I always grab her some before they start cooking!). I feed her eggs both raw and also lightly cooked (half raw–she prefers it this way over raw). She loves her veggies too: sweet potato, tomato, cucumber, blueberries, strawberries, apple, whatever I’m eating she gets a bit too. Meat is her preference though. She doesn’t like green smoothies but some dogs do so try it out.

Healthwise–I should write my own blog post about that! Magnets, infrared, alkaline water, zeolite (being barefoot on the ground means they are always absorbing and inhaling toxins so they need regular detox even more than people do), probiotics a couple times a week. That’s it. She’s very healthy.

  2. Hi Sharon!

thanks so much for writing here, I would love to talk to you more about this kind of stuff as I just want to make my new pup really healthy.

What a lucky dog you have, you sound like you are doing the absolute best for her and that is really how it should be but sadly isn’t as most just buy utter rubbish to feed their pets because its easy!

i had a cat that died about 6 months ago, she was only 2 and i just wonder, did I do anything that wasn’t good for her. We fed her applause cat food which was steamed chicken and things like that with hardly any additives but she still had lots of dry food, i had no idea until just recently that stuff was terrible.

Wow, magnets! what a good idea, where did you get the magnets?

I am getting her next week but unfortunately she will have been partly vaccinated. They would not have given her to me without them but I will make sure I don’t give her any more.

I was reading about vaccination schedules for dogs and my goodness its so shocking – a booster every year?? how ridiculous!

Where did you read about all of this stuff to do for your dog, I really want to try some things for coco when she is older to keep her super healthy but I am scared at doing certain things as I keep reading that poms are very delicate etc.

    I would appreciate any advice!!

If you would like to blog for me about your experiences, please do I would love that!

  3. I want some of that zeolite stuff! looks fab!! is this your website? x

  4. Nuts! they dont sell Addiction in the UK :( might still try the Orijen stuff as that might be second best?

  5. I’m a bit OCD when it comes to my dog and child, lol! I made the mistake of vaccinating the child for a year, not knowing better. I used to work for a doctor so I learned a lot of stuff about alternatives and I’m a nutritional consultant. Not that it really means anything. Most of the stuff a person learns in school is useless anyway. Better to learn stuff on your own from people who don’t theorize but actually do something and get results.

Yes, that’s my site. The zeolite will remove mercury and aluminum and other toxins. If you must vaccinate it’s a great thing to take. Until we cross the border we don’t need to here. Maybe you can import Addiction. It’s worth it unless your dog is very big but for a small dog it’s worth every penny especially if you’re like me and don’t want to mess around with raw meat too much. Can you get ZiwiPeak? We just keep it for treat food since she would eat without stopping and beg for more so I guess it’s tasty. She would be obese if that was her main food!

Magnets: I have a Pet Pad from Nikken and lot of miscellaneous stuff from them like a sleep system and Palm Mag which spins and rotates so magnetic energy can surround the cells from all angles. She loves to sleep under my infrared comforter. She used to sleep on my infrared socks whenever I left them on the floor. Once she even climbed into a box and laid on one there when she was a puppy! Animals are smart people!
