I am writing this post a few days late because on Saturday, I went away for the weekend. I apologise for the late posting!
Day 4:
Today was another easy day for me, I went out with a friend to a cafe and brought a juice with me so it was quite easy to continue this detox. I was loving my positive energy and feeling happy and knew that this was truly working.
My eyes are looking very white (they normally never do – have had yellowish eyes for years) and also, the bumps on my arms that I have (keratosis pilaris – blockage of the follicles) has pretty much disappeared. I know this detox has worked because it has given my liver a rest which is why the bumps have gone – this was a sign of a clogged liver.
I have been sleeping better and waking up at about 8.30 and really enjoying my morning routine. I am not going to stop doing the hot lemon water in the morning nor will I eat anything before 11am. I like that I am just giving my body fluids, rather than food, as soon as I get up. I think this is the key, drink lots of fluids before you start your day and you will have more energy.
Day 5:
Day 5 also started out really good, I am absolutely loving the smoothies and have not had a problem with any of them. They all taste lovely and are quite filling. My favorite is still the avocado one which I think I will try and make for myself tomorrow.
I went to see Alice In Wonderland and took a smoothie with me into the cinema. After it finished, my husband said we should go and see him after work. This was a big mistake!! I only had one smoothie in my bag, which I drank during the movie and because it was dinner time after we got out, I was quite hungry by the time we got to where I was meeting him. Saf, the raw Restaurant was just around the corner so he suggested we go there for dinner. I thought ‘thats a great idea, I can just order another juice from their botanicals bar’. The smells from the kitchen was just too much to bare. I ended up having a detox salad and then some raw sushi and THEN I also had dessert!! My problem, yet again is when I do something, I tend to do it really well, then I reach a point where I think, oh I have done well, now I can reward myself with some food!
It was great to be eating again but I still wondered, had I just undone all the goodness?
Day 6:
I woke up Saturday morning feeling VERY ill. Not because of the detox, but because of going to SAF.
I have been there about 6 times now over the last year and EVERY time I wake up the next morning I feel very sick in the stomach, almost like a hangover. I am wondering if they use too much soy, agave and nuts? I don’t think I will be going back there again because I am tired of spending money only to wake up the next morning feeling ill!
I was glad I had some more smoothies in the fridge though because after I drank one of them, I felt SO much better. They really do make you feel fantastic!
We went away to the Cotswalds so I ended my detox on Saturday afternoon.
I wish I could say that I ate really lightly but the truth is, we were at this amazing hotel with a fantastic chef! I did eat a lot of food yet on Sunday morning, I did not feel sick at all.
I am now very sad that the detox is over and would do it again in a second. Nosh Detox have got a great system going that really does make you feel so much better, in a way that is super easy to do.
I would suggest though that if you were to do it, be prepared in that you perhaps should not go anywhere in the evenings, like me, its very easy to just crumble when your out and you are hungry.
I will definitely do this detox again in a few months time!
I forgot to mention as well that when you purchase this detox, you also get sent a fantastic ebook about detoxing. It covers so much information and is very handy at certain times.
I found this very easy to do, despite Friday night’s mess up, you do not feel super crazy hungry during the day and instead have way more energy than you would think for not eating food.
Its now Tuesday and I am back to feeling a bit sluggish, after my weekend. I really feel that I am one of those people that does better on way less food and more fluids.
The problem is, I just love food!
