I have heard of Balm Balm for a few years, but have missed out on trying their products until now. I actually thought that all they made was just different types of balms so was very impressed to see how big and unique the range has become.
What struck me right away was that each product is not only organic, its 100% organic, and has soil association approval. Really good products are around 80% organic so to have an entire range that is completely organic is quite rare!
I have been sent a few products to test out and all are just amazing - so amazing that I will be including in my book that is going to be published later this year. I have been searching for truly ethical and safe products since I began my journey with Miss Eco Glam and have really just come across some incredible brands in the last 6 months.
Balm Balm is just brilliant and I know why its a favorite amongst many celebrities.
What I adore about Balm Balm is their range of 100% organic perfumes. There are 7 different types of single note perfumes (this means just one scent in the bottle). I chose the Rose Geranium which is just stunning. I love Rose Geranium it's such a pretty scent and because its organic I know that there is no harm in me spraying it onto my skin, and breathing it in is no problem either.
The other scents are:
Ylang Ylang
Lavender
Mandarin
Petitgrain
Bergamot
Ylang Ylang
Spearmint
You can purchase each scent in a large size (33mls) and they cost £20.00 which I think for a perfume of this size and quality is really exceptional. You can pay triple that for mainstream perfumes that might have more fancy packaging and bottles, but you are paying just for that and also for a toxic soup formula. Did you know that mainstream perfumes have been 50-200 dangerous chemicals in there! Madness isnt it!
What I love about this range is that you can purchase a sample size pack which has all seven of the perfumes but in a tiny size. Not only can this give you an idea of which bigger scent you may like but you can use these littles ones together by 'layering'. With the pack comes a card explaining how to blend some of them together. For example - you could put together for a romantic type scent the rose geranium and mandarin. YUM! Or for a bold type scent put ylang ylang with petigrain and also the rose geranium. Every day for literally weeks you could have a different personalised scent! This pack costs £4.95 which is an absolute steal as I think they would last for months!
I have never come across another brand doing this so well done Balm Balm for being so different!
The next genius product I have tested out is their Super Light Coconut Cleanser £13.25 which is just amazing as well. This product is simply made of blended organic coconut oils. Looks clear when it comes out and is very runny - in fact be careful when you pour it out, don't use too much as it will be a waste, a tiny bit goes so far. It smells lovely too, but in a very subtle coconut way.
To make this cleanser even more effective, you can use one of their organic muslin cloths with it. They come in a pack of three and are priced at £6.25. Using the cleanser this way leaves your skin oh so soft! The cloths are long lasting and can be washed regularly to keep them clean.
The last product I have tested out is one of the famous and original 'Balm Balm' products. This is the fragrance free version rrp £6.99 and is perfect for sensitive skins and babies! I can't wait to try this on my little girl who is due anytime between 4-8 weeks!
I can use this on her bottom (to keep nappy rash at bay) or if she has a dry scalp or any irritation anywhere. I think it will be a godsend and I love that its' 100% organic and safe.
These balms really seem to have a 100 in 1 uses (ok maybe not a 100 but at least 10!) from a cleanser, to a perfume to taming crazy behaving hair, on the eyelashes, on dry elbows and heels, lips, cuts and as an exfoliant too. You receive instructions with how to use the balms in all of these different ways.
Well it's safe to say I am a new fan of this brilliant range. There are so many other products I want to try.
There are bath and massage oils, face serums, organic essential oils, shower products, face balms, and lip balms too.
Such a lovely range that is 100% organic, 100% ethical and priced so affordably!

Glenda Taylor is an aromatherapist, perfumer and natural formulation consultant. Glenda founded Balm Balm a 100% organic skincare company in 2005. Balm Balm is the result of Glenda's dream to create an affordable 100% organic skincare range with wide distribution and Soil Association certification. In 2007, Balm Balm won The Soil Association's Organic industry award for Best Organic Beauty and Bodycare product. Alongside Balm Balm Glenda has a Bespoke Perfume Service making one off Perfumes for individuals as well as ready to wear scents. One of Glenda's perfumes 'Angel Water' has recently won critical acclaim from Rocca Dove, both in The Mail on Sunday and The Green Beauty Bible, as one of his favourite natural fragrances. A thought sharted by Vogue UK, who declared Glenda to be one of their favourite aromatherapists!
Glenda was founder of Cariad Aromatherapy which was sold to William Ransom Plc at the turn of the centuary. With Cariad, she built up a reputation as a renowned aromatherapist and even Vogue Magazine UK declared her to be their Favourite! She has written two books and created the Cariad Academy which was ITEC Approved and ran courses ranging from massage to reflexolgy, reiki and oriental accupressure. She consults for many different companies and has created products for such as Lil-Lets, TIGI, Lexus, Arcadia, Little Me Baby Organics and Florarama.
