This is my first blog post for many months and it’s not on the subject matter I intended to write about.
Because... when you get the sort of news we’ve had this week, thoughts that occupied your mind a few days ago get filed under ‘some other time’ and stored away. I was going to write about something else but I just don’t remember what it was now.
I’m not a fitness type of person – never have been. Oh, I’ve made the odd half-hearted attempt at gym membership, I’ve been to classes, I’ve read books about running. In fact, I found a pair of running shorts in the loft the other week. With the label still attached.

I’ve never been one for exercise.
At school, I used to rejoice on those days when it rained so hard they didn’t let us out to the playground. I was happier with a book than with a skipping rope. I had zero co-ordination and I couldn’t see the point of competitive sport. That

I found something on my desktop and thought I’d share it with you. It’s a poem (well, more of a rhyme than a poem really) that I wrote for the iDetox retreat in January this year.
Joe invited us all to get up in front of the group and share a ‘This Is Me’
I did a shoulder stand this morning. I hadn’t done any yoga for ages and it felt good to stretch again. It made me wonder why I’d ever stopped.
Shoulder stands and middle-aged women can be compatible, especially, I suppose, if that middle-aged woman is a lifelong yogini with washboard abs. In
I started a juice fast this morning. Some people call it a juice feast because you’re giving your body lots of nutrients in a form that it can use readily, so from that point of view you’re feasting. A lot of people would love to eat more fresh, vibrant, living food but
